On November 6th, BTO & The Princeton Review came together to present the Cards & Care Package Making Event, where general members joined our executive team to assemble care package donations.
In selecting these items, we gathered personal items into a drawstring bag: vaseline, a package of wet wipes, a toothbrush, toothpaste, hand sanitizer, soap, towels, and granola bars. We also gathered items to help individuals deal with the bitter winter cold: socks, gloves, hats, neck warmers, and blankets.
To assemble the packages, Blankets for T.O. met up on campus at the University of Toronto Scarborough. With the executive team members taking the lead, we also invited our general members to come out and lend a hand. That same night, we donated half the care packages to Homes First in Scarborough! The remaining packages will be donated to another shelter in Brampton.
Students got the chance to socialize with peers, create cards and care packages, and meet to talk with a representative from The Princeton Review and learn more about their TPR prep course.
A special thank you to The Princeton Review for sponsoring our event! We had a great turnout and made 75 care packages!! We would also like to thank everyone who attended our event to make these donations possible. We will be posting videos on our social media to show how we assembled and donated the items, so follow us if you want to learn more and be notified of future events.
